Extrascharf Knoblauch

A quickie mod on the eBoy / Kidrobot peecol design of the sunburnt german asphalt layer Bernd. This one is going on top of our office espresso machine. Extra Scharf, Knoblauch (extra hot, garlic sause) was our standard line at four o’clock in the morning in the various Berlin Kebab outlets. Superknüller is a german word meaning something like ”super offer” and which sounds slightly naughty in norwegian. Kaffeemaschine is selfexplanatory.

Color chart skatedeck

This deck is our back-and-forth to the shop deck. It is available in our webshop. It features an RGB color chart since Boardpusher who make our skatedecks insists on using RGB as their preferred color system. We made this deck to see just how the different colors will look on the finished deck and it is usefull for anyone who want to make decks with Boardpusher.

PAPP prototype in production

The first production run of the PAPP designertoy is on! The parts have been emailed over to Supermodeller for lasercutting. Hopefully we will have the first parts here in Tordal by the end of the week.
20' and 40' ISO Container paper models

This paper model of a 20ft ISO container is a by-product from the Habitat proposal. We have made some small improvements on the model and made a 40ft container model as well. Both models are available for download.
Print out 33000 sheets and make a scale model of the Rotterdam transit harbour as a school project, or maybe it could pass for an art installation?
Use thick printer paper for best result, a scalpel or sharp scissors and your favourite paperglue.

PAPP_ExtraBlack.ttf
Our logo has officially changed! The old one was based on two figures we made for our first webpage back in 1999 - www.boredturtle.com. We took the exact proportions of the bodies from these two figures and made the TordalType font for our logo. In a freak accident the resulting font was almost identical to the font and logo designed by our friend Ariane Spanier for Torpedo bookstore in Oslo, hence the need for a change...
Our new logo comes from the work with the PAPP logo. The PAPP ExtraBlack font is a fixedwidth font. The designer toy PAPP has a perfect cube shape and we wanted the font to reflect the complete squarishness of it all. Only the most important letters and symbols are included in this font.

We have been working the last month with the proposal for an art piece for Storoya Grendesenter. The result of the competition will be published before the end of the month which leaves us plenty of time to jump whenever the phone rings and tentatively open our email. Read More...
BS2PE Motherboard
We are still working on Papp, another piece of the design is available for download. This is the Basic Stamp 2pe Motherboard with two daughterboards attached - the Parallax I/O daughterboard and an empty prototype board.

PAPP logo
We are moving forward with the design of PAPP and it looks as if we will be ready too launch our first superlimitededition designertoys this fall. The 3D-design is almost finished and the materials lie ready for lasercutting.
We designed a new font for PAPP for the logo (above), we are very pleased with the logo and have allready designed three skate decks with the logo and some PAPP Mac OS X icons. The decks and icons will be made available on the evening of our launch. Watch out for more news in the near future!
