Riding Romance 1 2 3 - logo
07/11/11 22:28

Choreographer Henriette Pedersens new performance is called Riding Romance 1 2 3. The trilogy takes as its starting-point the in some of the iconic works from the romantic period: 1. The Ballet Swan Lake, 2. Caspar David Friedrich´s painting «Der Wanderer Über den Nebelmeer» and 3. The fairytale of Red Riding Hood. Henriette being a true romantic and with her slight tendency to overdo things, we look forward to seeing her take on this fascinating subject. She decided to make a logo rather than regular posters and the solution became a red version of the black cloud logo we made for her in 2009. Riding Romance 1 2 3 is first showing in February 2012 at Black Box theatre and who are also co-producers together with Galleri Maria Veie. Read More...
Austad Elektro AS Logo
15/09/11 21:55

We created this logo for Austad Elektro AS with a bolt of lightning through their initials and combining it with our own font Tordal College. The equally bold weight on the strokes in black and white, create an interesting optical push-pull-effect, helping the lightning to flash. The company got the design on their vans, outdoor signs, t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, business cards, envelopes ++ and we are also making their website which is under construction: www.austadelektro.no.

Toke brygge folder
18/06/11 21:48

This folder was handed out on Drangedalsdagene (a festival in Drangedal) explaining about the project and giving info on an outdoor play made especially for Toke Brygge. Grenland Friteater and Springer Kulturstudio collaborated with local theatre groups which resulted in a very popular play and dance-performance.
Toke Brygge Ticket
17/06/11 23:25

For the open air theater and dance performance at Drangedalsdagene, we made these tickets, which also came in green and blue for the three shows.
Toke Brygge Banner
17/06/11 22:20

Under the festival of Drangedal (Drangedalsdagene) Toke Brygge presented their plans for the area down by the waterside. It could be viewed on the wall outside the old Flom store and was used to explain about the plans and get direct feedback from the people of Drangedal. We made the layout based on text from Gunn Marit Christenson in Springer Kulturstudio and the consept schetches of Feste Landskapsarkitekter, Point Arkitektur og konseptdesign, Planhuset Arkitekter and ourselves.

Toke Brygge (Toke Quay) is a cultural development project aiming to better the conditions and rediscover the stories and centre of Drangedal in Telemark County. We made the logo and have also worked as contributors on how to best make the change needed, to bring Drangedal into an attractive place to live, work, visit and enjoy! Springer Kulturstudio and Feste Landskapsarkitekter are our collaborators on this project for Drangedal Kommune. Toke Brygge homepage. Toke Brygge on Facebook
FINN pop-up-banner
13/12/10 14:41

A pop-up banner for the Laywers at Finn. We used the swirling white F from their logo as a central graphic. Finn wanted pictures describing their different clients within public, criminal and business law. Since we only had one day for the job we decided to skip a lengthy search for suitable (and expensive) stock photos, and rather make pictograms in illustrator. The different pictograms are a policewoman, a forklift, a cargo boat (times two), a house and the derrick of an oil rig.
Lowbrow Desktop
22/11/10 23:31

Our Macs sports new desktops in celebration of our new name, logo and slogan. As you can see from these three last posts we have dusted off an old forest-design by Hilde, switched it over to greyscale and beefed it up with some subtle shadows to catch the feel of these troll-infested forests...

Illustration for Bredtvet
04/11/10 19:35

An illustration for Bredtvedt Kompetansesenter is finished! We made the cover and main illustrations including all the technical figures. ”Talevansker” is best translated into ”speech impediments” and the book is a medical and technical book on treatment of speech impediments common for children born with cleft lip or palate. Telejuss logo
03/11/10 22:23

This is our latest logo for Telejuss. It’s a pretty straightforward design with the classic paragraph signage. The paragraph is a modified Baskerville with oak-leaves. And the name underneath ”Telejuss” is written in Garamond.
Blomstadli Squeeze Bottle
25/10/10 19:40

A very quick design for a local honey producer Blomstadli Honey. The farmname ”Blomstadli” means something like ”the place on the hillside where flowers grow” - a very apt name for honey production. The design has a mintgreen background with a white flowery pattern and a yellow + gold pinstripe patch under the logo. The main font for these stickers is the retro Hoedown type with a custom scripttype for detailing.
Blomstadli logo
25/10/10 19:40

Logo design for Blomstadli Honey. The design has a six-petal flower as the basic shape with the retro font Hoedown for the big central ”B” for ”Blomstadli”.
Skyttersamlaget honorary plaque
29/07/10 19:37

An honorary plaque design for Telemark Skyttersamlag. Blue flowery pattern and plaque in greyscale with the crest of the National Rifle Association as a central splash of colour.
Bygdedata logo
23/07/10 19:42

A logo for Bygdedata - a company specializing in computer network sollutions.
The client wanted a design influenced by the surrounding forest industry. The design uses the same proportions as the standard norwegian road sign but the internal circle is made into a saw-blade and the letter B and D from bygdedata is turned turned 90 degrees to make a smiling face. ”bygdedata is written beneath the sign in our Blockschrift font.
Napp Design Logo
05/03/10 19:30

A new logo design for a new customer! This time the logo is for Napp Design, a product design company with a focus on packaging and the norwegian seafood business. The logo is a closed font with lots of space for texture. It is designed to be an interactive logo so that the designers at Napp can play with textures and colours.
Drangedal Kulturkalender Spring '10
15/02/10 20:07

The new calendar is finished. This time we opted for a cutout figure so the Drangedal kids could whip out the old glue & scissors.

Drangedal Kulturkalender 09/10
25/11/09 21:30

We have made the new design for Drangedal Kulturkalender which (we hope) will be delivered with the local newspaper, Drangedalsposten, tomorrow morning.
The design is relatively simple; naked branches on thick white paper with three tones of blue, swooshing in the background. The two cones hanging from the top branch of page one are from the Drangedal municipal coat of arms. The format is A3, accordion-folded to eight pages, the font is the spindly-and-clean Century Gothic - regular for the headlines, alternating between regular and bold in the calendar. Read More...
Lauvstad Charolais logo
23/11/09 12:01

Our logo design for Lauvstad Charolais is ready! We had an exciting but trying photoshoot with bull number 1009. Despite his appearance he is a docile creature mostly interested in beeing scratched behind his ears, not to keen on keeping a pose though. Our trusted Leica died and the borrowed camera had a four-second shutter-delay which was a bit sucky when trying to take a good picture of a 1000kg bull. Read More...

Drangedal Kulturkalender
10/06/09 13:18

We just finished this design for Drangedal Kommune. It is distributed to some 3000 households this week. Grey simple background with a flowery font on A4-format folded to four pages.
Oaza Logo
06/05/09 09:55

A quick design for Oaza, the new skin and foot care boutique/therapeut in Drangedal.
This logo plays upon the name of the business, an oasis - a place for water, moisture, refreshment and rest. We would like to make some interesting folders and flyers with this logo - for instance a combination of brown paper with the logo embossed and printed in high-gloss. The oasis/desert-symbolism is easy to understand and its fun for us to play with the design.
Drangedal Bygdetun Logo
16/04/09 13:16

We have just finished the work on Drangedal Township Museums new logo!
We opted for a simple design and a simple font. The main body of the logo is an ax used to punch out a symbol on the timber before floating it down to the timber mill. The symbol shows who owns or has bought the timber. The township museum keeps a large collection of these beautiful handmade axes.
Animal Magnetism 1
17/02/09 10:51

We have just completed the poster, flyer and e-flyer for Henriette Pedersens new show Animal Magnetism 1. This is the first part of a trilogy about hysteria and it will have it's premiere on the 25. February at Black Box Teater in Oslo. At the end of March the performance will also open at Teaterhuset Avant Garden in Trondheim.
The main character in the poster is based on a picture from the dress rehearsal taken by Sveinn Fannar Johannsson (see more of these pictures at Henriettes website). Hilde made an ink and pencil-drawing, cooling down the skin tone of the dancer and adding a flaming hair. Magnetic lines flow out from the hands.
Researching this project was very interesting: female hysteria, animal magnetism and the more or less scientific studies and remedies concerning "hysteric women". We look forward to seeing the show, a must for those of you in Oslo or Trondheim!

Henriette Pedersen logo
12/01/09 15:43

The logo we made for Henriette Pedersen. A spinning cloud with animals, people and a lamp. The logo incorporates elements from different previous shows with the addition of a pinch of burlesque. We want to make this into a water-transfer-tattoo next...
Henriette Pedersen revisited
12/01/09 15:29

Henriette Pedersen has asked us to make the new poster, flyer etc for her latest show, Animal Magnetism 1.

Color chart skatedeck
29/10/08 23:24

This deck is our back-and-forth to the shop deck. It is available in our webshop. It features an RGB color chart since Boardpusher who make our skatedecks insists on using RGB as their preferred color system. We made this deck to see just how the different colors will look on the finished deck and it is usefull for anyone who want to make decks with Boardpusher.

In celebration of our new logo we have ordered this pintail for cruising back and forth to the shop. It will be available in our webshop by the end of the week!
PAPP_ExtraBlack.ttf
28/10/08 13:15

Our logo has officially changed! The old one was based on two figures we made for our first webpage back in 1999 - www.boredturtle.com. We took the exact proportions of the bodies from these two figures and made the TordalType font for our logo. In a freak accident the resulting font was almost identical to the font and logo designed by our friend Ariane Spanier for Torpedo bookstore in Oslo, hence the need for a change...
Our new logo comes from the work with the PAPP logo. The PAPP ExtraBlack font is a fixedwidth font. The designer toy PAPP has a perfect cube shape and we wanted the font to reflect the complete squarishness of it all. Only the most important letters and symbols are included in this font.
PAPP logo
13/10/08 12:45

We are moving forward with the design of PAPP and it looks as if we will be ready too launch our first superlimitededition designertoys this fall. The 3D-design is almost finished and the materials lie ready for lasercutting.
We designed a new font for PAPP for the logo (above), we are very pleased with the logo and have allready designed three skate decks with the logo and some PAPP Mac OS X icons. The decks and icons will be made available on the evening of our launch. Watch out for more news in the near future!
New logo
29/05/08 15:49

We have been busy for the last couple of months. Moved from Oslo and our friends to Tordal into a new home, new kindergarden, new office and an uncharted territory as far as customer base is concerned.
We have been stepping up the design of our first superlimitededition designertoys series (more news soon). Have made six skateboard deck designs and put them out on our new web-store. Rebuilt our website, thank god for Rapidweaver. Made a new monospace font for our new logo, printed 1000 "I moose Tordal" bumperstickers + 2000 businesscards. The bumperstickers and businesscards will be mailed to all the potential design-hungry businesses in a 100 km circle (sounds more than it actually is) to let them know a design company has landed in these here woods....

A design for a large Pop-Up wall promoting Ford and Volvos Flexifuel-brand is finished for Bil i Nord. The wall measures 2,5 x 3 metres and features hundreds of bacteria happily floating around in microcosmos breaking down biomaterial and building ecofriendly (plankton-style) Bio-Ethanol.
