Our friend Hans Peter on top of the the ridge between Vinstad and Bunes. We are about 1.3 kilometers from the outmost point of the ridge coming down from Storskiva (just visible behind Hans Peters head).

Ingrid and Bard halfway down the steep descent to the beach. Bard first visited the beach 15 years ago. Trying to go the coastal route from the valley behind Storskiva, Hermannsdalen, was a bad idea though - resulting in a search operation complete with a stylish orange and white Sea King search-and-rescue helicopter.

The scale of the beach is almost impossible to understand from photos. The beach is enormous and it feels even bigger because of the surrounding peaks, the 840m high Storskiva to the south and the aptly named Helvetestind (Hells peak) to the nortwest. Helvetestind is only 480 meters high but the polished mountainside rises almost vertically up from the beach.
